The Mugen Front lip was designed for the purpose of creating more front end downforce and not for mere appearances alone. Its the only lip in my mind that actually serves a purpose other than for looks.
I would have to see some hard real life statistics before I could buy into the notion that a front lip adds significant down force. I can accept that they are designed to do that, but given the way they are attached I find it hard to see how they would not be ripped off if they actually incurred more than a few pounds of down force.

The speeds necessary to make a rear spoiler begin to apply significant down force is often over 80 -100kph. If this holds true for front lips, I'd rather be driving in a straight line and not doing any spirited cornering.

Of course, I could be off the mark on this. But I still think the sperm whale look is, as Mike said, ass. The 04 is a vast improvement however.

Speaking of spoilers, I'm having 2nd thoughts about the 04 rear wing. I've looked at a couple of them on the SoCal site, and I'm not so sure about the look now. Oh well, I've got the off season to think it over.

Mugen has invested significant time and money into R&D, and they are known to produce Honda parts that are functional.

All their aerodynamic kits were tested in the wind tunnel. I cant comment on how much the lip does, but accoding to Mugen it provides stability during sudden deceleration. Although its really hard to sense the difference, I believe the lip serves such a function.

lookwise I like the J's lip the most.

I'm more leaning toward J's right now.

I'll ask Joon when he gets back from Korea. Only thing I'm concerned is the glued part. I might want to get rid of the lip in the future without damaging the front bumper..
