Default Lost my headunit code...

Hey guys, I was looking for my radio code the other day, as I was planning to reset my ecu by pulling the negative battery terminal. However, it seems that I lost it, and decided not to reset the ecu until I find the code. I'm wondering, is there a quick way to get the head unit to display the code while it is 'unlocked'? I know that there is a way to get the head unit to display the serial number, but that doesn't help me (unless I need to go to Honda to get the code) What are my other options? Who works at Honda?

I couldn't get my code with just a VIN. I had to get the serial number of my radio and bring it in.

oh really? well a google showed me how to get the serial number and apparently if you call honda with that you can get the code

"turn off unit press and hold #1 & #6 presets while turning the radio on. the display toggles between 2 screens the first displays a U and the second screen an L. Ignore the letters that's your units serial # Ex. U1234 L4321 your serial # is 12344321. Honda just enters that on their puter and you have the antitheft code put in by honda. Beats tearing out the radio. "

You can not obtain radio codes with VIN.

You must supply a radio serial number which can be obtained by the 1 + 6 method when the radio is locked out.

Call your local Honda or Acura dealer with the serial number or me, and they/I can get you a code within' minutes.

Parkway Honda also said they should be charging me $10 for it but would give it to me for free. Dunno how true that is.

So I have to purposely lockout my radio just to get the code? Can't do it in non-lockout mode?
