Me vs. Turn 2
Folks, this is how not to do turn 2 at Mosport...or the positive way of looking at it, is this is how you want to spin at Mosport if you're going to spin.

It occured on my final timed session on Sunday. I wasn't feeling good with the car all of Saturday and my laptimes reflected that - 1:46-47...(ugh). On Sunday morning I felt better with everything and took a big chunk out of my laptimes (1:44.2) while botching the 8,9, 10 combo. I felt there was at least another second in the car if I got that combination right.
Well, I never got the chance...in the final session in turn 2, I got caught out by the bump at the first apex. Not sure what was running through my mind but as soon as it registered in my head that the rear was light, I fed in more throttle but at that point I was already a passenger but didn't know it yet. Feeding in the throttle while the rear was unweighted just threw me into the spin faster. I tried to catch it at first with a bunch of countersteer then found myself FACING the tirewall and still falling down the hill so I figured if I'm going to whack something, make sure it's the tirewall and not the concrete. I'd also rather whack with the rear rather than the front so I just turned the wheel the other way, looked over my shoulder and as soon as it rotated I locked up the wheels and hoped for the best.
I was very very lucky this time around...got a big dose of the fear so I turned it down a fair bit at the Kensai event today. The cage is definitely the priority now.
Edit: after watching a few more times, looks like the bump didn't unsettle the car; it unsettled me and my foot came off the throttle for an instant when I went over it even though the speed wasn't any different from before.

I obviously wasn't there, but do you not think you over corrected? or was it over before it started?

Thanks. I was tippy-toeing down 2 all day though. I seem to have more flames when the car is under higher load...like when that fatass 205-lb ballast named Jay was sitting in there. I yelled at him to get out and push but he didn't listen. Looks cool and all but everytime it happens, my exhaust gets louder from the packing material burning up.
