My wife and newborn live in Windsor and I am down for a while, will probably be moving out here by the end of the summer. My problem is that I left my wife with our 01 MDX and when I got here a week ago I noticed the front struts were shot, with me not being from the area its hard to trust any shop with good service. I got a quote from Windsor Honda for a lot more than I would like to pay. So my question is... does anyone know a good shop that can replace them for me without charging me an arm and a leg? I will be in Windsor for a couple more weeks and would like to get them replaced before I leave.
Your help would be greatly appreciated guys.
doubt we can be much help to you, sorry. most members here in this forum are in Toronto or closeby Toronto (maybe a couple members will be halfway to Windsor in like Kitchener/Waterloo or Cambridge and can chime in?), as Windsor is a solid 4 hrs from here and to be honest ain't the nicest city in Ontario lol, thus not many of us go there...unless passing thru to get into the US via Detroit lol.
did a quick Google search for you and came up with the following places, so maybe you can call them (hopefully since they're listed on the net, they're not shady or anything but who knows...):
Thanks for the input I called a few places and apparently the MDX is a rare breed up here. The parts happen to be pricier than in the states and I would have the same dilemma taking it over to Detroit. With parts and labor from the few places I called taking it to Honda was the better option, unfortunately.
Yes indeed Windsor is not the nicest place, the roads here are killing me. We have nicer dirt roads back home, lol. I have seen very little of Ontario but maybe later on I will explore more. I have seen a few S2K's and just the other day I came across a red NSX at a Tim Horton's. Is there a bigger car scene in Toronto? Just looking for options for later.
My brother-in-law is a class A and has his own fully equipped shop outside his regular gig. I think he charges something like $55 per hour plus parts. He has a lot of experience with these types of vehicles and is highly recommended.
The problem is - we're in London - about 2 hours east of Windsor! If you're interested, just let me know!
