Default No more talking/texting while driving

So my work sent me a warning that they are going to start enforcing this law in my area, personally i completely agree with the law and think its a great idea. Whats your opinions?

I just hope that if they do decide to enforce this law, they do so with force. Nothing would piss me off more than getting busted on this law and then seeing people all around me still doing it! Now of course the law is limited by the poilice force resources but i hope if they put it into full effect it has just that.

Oh...and i also think they should drop the price of those hands-free devices, its like ~$100 for a decent one?!

I agree with it.

I just hope bozos don't pull over on the side of the highway thinking its safe just because they don't want to drive & text. :suprised:

yeah well someone has to make money of those devices.

secondly, i think its weak. I dont exactly know how far they will go and how much more they will chip away at our freedom. Especially the "racing law" and the "project erase"
http://www.police.york.on.ca/erase/ Granted - there isn't a need for that much speed on the street - but the actual law itself.

still the issue comes down to driving - for the majority, most people have not learned how to drive in canada.

In all honesty, I think the people who are currently texting and driving or talking and driving are the EXACT people who shouldn't be doing this. From what I've seen personally, the people who do this are all over the road and making bad decisions when they aren't texting so they certainly shouldn't be texting and driving. So I think it is a good thing to start this crack down but it won't change anything for me.

I can't remember how many times I've driven past some bleech blonde bimbo teenager who is texting only to see them slam on the brakes a couple hundred yards later because they weren't watching the road

This'll stop the suits in downtown on their crack-berries and actually drive for a change.

It's about time they put this into effect. The thing is, will cops actually make the busts?

People don't scare easily I find, they think that they can't be caught. I hope they get the hammer. The general public, most of which are not driving enthusiasts I would assume, have a hard enough time not driving like an idiot and safely. Nevermind throwing texting and crap in there.

Driving requires your full attention. People think it doesn't, but those are the people who don't realise all the mistakes they make on the road.

Now if only they would enforce other things, like staying in your damn lane, not clipping yellow lines and staying on the inside lane when turning...
