Please let me know if you are in!

Ok guys i got some final Figures in I just need to know whos down for buying one so i can tell the dealer how many we need and how big of a discount can we get.

Regarding Shipping (from dealer)

Shipping pocketbikes into canada is not commonly done because it can be difficult for dealers. A dealer friend just did a test shipment to a Canadian client and everything went well as far as I know. We could arrange for you either the half faired or the full faired bike (much better)...

The shipping is likely to be close to $50 USD for UPS International

Pricing

we sell both the highest quality half faired and full faired bikes. They are hand picked to be the best. For a 10 unit order, we can do $349 for the full faired, plus shipping. The shipping is likely to be close to $50 USD for UPS International, but we won't be charging any more than the actual shipping charges they would charge. On our website, numerous pictures of the half faired version are available, and there is one pic or 2 of the full faired on the front page. We can send more pictures of the color schemes if you want of the full faired bikes since we have them in stock.

Full Faired = $349.00 Us = 478.115 CAD (xe.com) for 10 bikes + shipping and taxes

You have a choice of either a full faired bike or a half faired bike!

Both bikes are Identical in performance, Some say the New Full Faired bikes are a bit faster but no proof so far.

There are also performance mods avaible for the bikes

Please let me know if you are in!

Half Fair are the once with the half body kit. (not sure if they come with stickers)

Full Fair are the once with the full body kits (look like real bikes). The full fair once come with stickers and double paint schemes as shown in the pictures.

MAGGIEMAE 05-26-2004 07:30 AM

I have done a little checking and here is what I have found the vehicles must be eligible for import the Transport Canada web site states for mini bikes and restricted use-motorcycles "the vehicle must bear an alpha-numeric vehicle identification number of no less than 14 and no greater than 17 digits which complies with the composition requirements of CMVSS 115" Which I believe means that the manufacturer must be listed with Transport Canada (just like the # on your car). They would also be subject to duty/excise tax/GST. I went through the voice mail trail with Customs but the bottom line is someone with all the information would have to call to get the duty/taxes required.

Henry,

How about customs... how much would they beat us on the tax?

wing 05-26-2004 07:53 AM

Can you drive these things on the road or sidewalk?

Looks like a cheaper way to get to work ;)

Nope offroad use only, as they cant be registered. People drive them around the neighbourhood they are just considered as gas go peds but way quicker :p . O yea it does check out the mileage lol

Fuel Capacity: 0.5 US Gallon

Range: 35 Miles (Avg.)

"transport canada says a street legal bike must be at least 50 cc, have 10" wheels, and at least a headlight.

last i looked, pocketbikes had none of these features."

from pocketbikes.ca

All the price quotes i have listed. The shipping might vary depending on your location a little. Unless we all want these shipped to one location and pick them up.....

comets 05-26-2004 08:02 AM

I might be in for a half faired too... 50/50 depending on the price of the final outcome...

New info on Shipping across border taken from Pocketbikes.ca

[QUOTE]
Hi,

ludeboye 05-26-2004 09:08 AM

Ok i got the word in from the dealer.

And as far as customs, I have no idea how they will deal with it. I do know that we have to specify that they are vehicles that are for off road use only, therefore they are taxed differently. How much they charge on duties I have no idea.

So basically the boreder charges are on us. Let me know if you want one. A guy from Pocketbikes.ca paid 40 CDN in duty and taxes and the other paid 140 CDN. It all depends if they check it or not.

MAGGIEMAE 05-26-2004 09:08 AM

Depending on the final cost to my door A half fairing in Red would look nice in the trunk of the Honda !!

ludeboye 05-26-2004 09:14 AM

Ok Prices are here

Half Faired = $299.00 Us = 409.617 CAD (xe.com) + 50 USD shipping USP international. (shipping can vary according to shipping adress)

Final price of Half Faired including Shipping

349.00 USD = 478.311 CAD + You handle the Border charges.

Final Price Full Faired Including Shipping

399.00 USD = 546.839 CAD + You handle the Border charges.

ludeboye 05-26-2004 09:16 AM

Ok now i need people who want one and give me their shipping adress so i can confirm the shipping price. Unless we all want our bikes to be shipped at one location and then pick them up from there...

ludeboye 05-26-2004 09:17 AM

update from dealer

[QUOTE]yes.

wing 05-26-2004 09:20 AM

I gaurantee UPS will gouge you on shipping.

You will pay Duty at the border of at least 6% + 15% tax.

Then on top of that UPS will charge a $80 brokerage fee, because they feel like it.

Expect this to total $700 - 800 when your done.

I know you can get these bikes in T.O. for around $800 or $900 maybe get a group buy through them???

80 brokerage fee? I dont know what kind of bikes they are selling in t.o but these are the high quality replicas. Most on ebay and other sites are really cheap. I emailed the dealer asking if there is any brokerage fee that Ups will charge.

wing 05-26-2004 09:27 AM

It might be more than $80.....

UPS ALWAYS charges a brokerage fee.

Basically everything has to go through customs. But UPS has a "deal" with customs. They do the paper work for them. As a result they charge YOU extra $$$ to do this work. They won't ever tell you how much a head of time it's a crap shoot.

I had to pay $30 brokerage on a $100 computer case, + 15% tax + duty.

USPS is the safest way but these bikes might be too big or too heavy.

wing 05-26-2004 09:32 AM

Typed it into google.

Ok here:
http://www.ups.com/content/ca/en/shipping/..._clearance.html

Looks like $50 USD

So I was close $70 CDN in brokerage fee + duty and taxes.

Best thing is expect the worst. If you are prepared to pay $800 and it ends up being $800 no biggie right? If it ends up being $500 then your happy as a pig in S**T

ludeboye 05-26-2004 09:58 AM

Ok i mailed the dealer regarding shipping all bikes together in one package so we dont get raped on brokage fees :) thanx wing

wing 05-26-2004 10:00 AM

No problem. I think that's the safest way.

1 package = 1 brokerage fee. If all the bikes are seperate you will pay $70 per bike.

ludeboye 05-26-2004 10:48 AM

Finalize everything by next weekend. If we go shipping in one big package we save on shipping as well as brokerage fees.

How much is the shipping going to cost? That can only be said once we place our orders. But the dealer said $50 USD for every bike if they are to be shipped seperately. We might save some if we get them all i one big bunch.

Ok regarding shipping. My friends dad has a big electric motor company. And he ships and imports big motors and by big i mean 200+ lbs sometimes from Us to Canada and Canada to Us. And from what he said "they will be really cheap to ship to Canada" 40-50$ if anything.

ludeboye 05-26-2004 06:47 PM

I guess no one wants to do it lol.... i think im going to go ahead and place an order with another friend if the dealer permits me to and tell you guys the price shipped to the door.

I am sure henry can't confirm a price since he have no control over customs...

So I am estimating price to be around $550 - $600 at most at my door?

That's a little over my expected price... was looking at around $400, I am a cheap bastard... so I guess I am out...

Sorry man but i cant do anything about customs its a risk you have to take. Some have gotten their bikes with 40$ through the boreder and some got charged 140$. But its still a deal at 600 the bikes selling here are slow and they are not even pocket bikes. They are mini bikes and they go for 1000+. Well me and my friend are in for sure and im going to go with this paint scheme

From what i can gather from reliable sources is that. You will pay Gst on it 7%. And then the customs fee which is like 10-20$.

Thats why if we get all the 10 bikes in one big package we will only pay the 70$ or whatever the bookage fee is for one box.

The same price for the bike itself yes.. but shipping could be more or less. And the dealer said they prefer to ship in a pallet of 10 as they are less likely to get damaged rather than shipping individual bikes. The pallet can be more than 10 bikes just want to see whos intrested...

some quotes from the dealer

[QUOTE]talked to a UPS rep today and they said that there is no way we will be able to get a straight answer about the duties you will have to pay.

Update:

We can save on brokage fees that Ups charges. By getting the bikes shipped by USPS but the thing with USPS is that they wont accept packages over 60lbs. Luckly the bike is only 50lbs (shipping weight). But we cannot mail all the bikes together if we go by USPS. So there are 2 options

1) Ship by Ups a pallet of 10 bikes to one adress.

2) Ship by Usps every bike by it self to individual adresses.

dirtyd 05-28-2004 10:06 PM

the cheaper the option.....the better!!!!!

wing 05-29-2004 05:59 AM

If they will let it go USPS you will be so much safer. $5 brokerage fee on each bike. Plus shipping would be cheaper via USPS!!!

I might be in USPS!
