worth less during warranty, worth about the same after.

We're not talking huge dollar delta's here guys. I think it comes down to the mileage / condition of the car at the end.

well said. :iagree:

... time for me to chime in ...

I was told numerous times not to purchase a US spec S2000 for the simple fact that as far a car dealer was concerned (honda/acura or otherwise), it was much harder to sell a US car that they couldn't give an official Honda Canada extended warranty to (and something to do w/ how dealerships send some of their trade-ins to the auction house for resale). Having said that, I was looking for a GPW w/ Tan interior (a combo that was never offered in Canada). So while some people say that US spec cars (in general) have lower resale values, I probably would have paid more than what I did for mine. I love my tan interior (and I'd do it again in a heartbeat) ... had someone offered me 2 identical cars (same mileage, condition, etc), one w/ tan (US) and the other w/ red (CAN) ... I still would've paid more for the tan. I just don't let other people tell me how much my car is worth (it's my car ... not theirs).

(btw ... just ignore the KBB ... ;)

Can we please all keep one thing in mind... These are Honda's, built in Japan, not in Aliston... They don't break so why do you need a stinking warranty? I occasionally drive mine like it was stolen and not once have any of my 3 S's left me anywhere with breakdowns. I am a firm believer in importing these from the States... They're 20 G's less over there and our dollar is sitting pretty. The first one I bought was at 25% exchange and was still a great deal, but not without cross border headaches. Not for everyone, but those who can, should! :tipwink:

Its worth less only because if you are a CDN living in Canada, you would rather have a CDN car than a US car.

I think the values about one model year different, at least thats what it is for NSXs.
