Default Questions about M3

Hey guys
I got a question to ask. Are the M3's any good? I'm interested in buying one but not a brand new one just something I can drive in the winter.. I'm looking at 2000-2005 year. Are there any kind of trouble with them?

thanks

A friend told me to avoid early model smg's (2000-2002) they have been prone to tranny issues.
Otherwise its a solid car and you won't be disapointed!

i believe there were engine issues where it can start on fire, etc.. for the 2000-2002 models if i remember correctly...

i was looking in an M3 too.. at the same time b4 i bought my S2K! i decided to go with the S2K because A) better on gas B) cheaper on insurance! and since i won't drive them in winter, it won't matter to me! LOL

my buddy told me a tank of gas 94 Octane can go as far as 450kms if you drive like a granny.. and it cost him the most last year at like almost $90/tank! LOL

Yeah I was looking at an M3 before I got the S as well. The reason I didn't get the M3 was the cost of maintenance. $200 oil changes and $2000 brake jobs were a little too steep for me.

If money wasn't an issue I would get one for sure.
