Remote Door Locks Control Unit
I did all the typical protocols and my key fobs still don't work! I'm told there is a control unit (#38380-S2A-A01) somewhere in the cabin. Does anyone know where it is and/or has anyone actually replaced one?
For the AP2 it's under the dash behind the starter button. I too am having problems with non-working FOB's. The only modification to my car is a replacement radio.
I verified the electric locks work as does the truck release. I also checked the fuses. I will check voltages to the module when I get another chance to look.
I find it hard to believe the module all of sudden goes bad, but have seen stranger things happen.

These control units routinely sell on Ebay for about $30. Just Google the part number. That part number is specifically for the 2000-2003 cars (maybe 2004 and 2005 but not for 2006+).

Thanks for the guidance Chuck. I'm still surprised this is an issue in a Honda, as we are a Honda family (own 3 now and always had one in the garage since I was 18) and never heard / experienced this symptom.
I was hoping it had something to do with the OEM radio removal ....

That I can't even guess at since my OEM radio is still in there.
Here are two very helpful genuine Honda manuals which should offer at least clues and some troubleshooting procedures. Download them to your PC. They're searchable unlike the paper versions. There's also 25 years of data here. Main problems with remote locking seems to be the fobs and these seem somewhat dependent on model year.

The module is pretty high up behind the radio controls left of your cluster. I had to make some adjustments to one on a 2006, the range was extremely short but I corrected it by adjusting the module itself. If you need a used module, we have one from a 2008 and many pre 2006 in Eastern Ontario. Good luck.

! ) Despite eBay listings it seems to be a universal module regardless of what year car it came out of.
