Default Rust Proofing My S2000

OK guys, I know we all would like to park our S2k in the garage for the winter, but that is not always realistic. So, have any of you had your car rust proofed, by whom, what product etc. I DON'T want any product applied that must have holes drilled. I'm hoping that "RUST CHECK" or "CROWN RUST" will accommodate my request for no holes. Any input would be appreciated.

I suspect you may need to have some holes drilled if you want an aftermarket application to get into all the important spots, but I may be wrong. Good luck and keep us posted!

Personally I don't feel those rust proofing products do a lot of good in the long run.

Figure this, you have drainage holes in the bottom of your doors and other panels. They fill those holes with plugs after they inject the goo. This goo will pool at the bottom of your door or panel and where can the water that gets in go from there? No where. It'll either be hot and evap or condense. Then you run the risk of the rusting from the inside.

You have to keep that rust proofing up or you get rust faster! Trust me on this one.

Go to BMW and ask them for a rust proofing...they'll say no you can't do this. The rust proofing we have here eats away at bushings and whatnot.

Also, no rust proofing in Sweden and other cold countries that use salt.

The keep to keeping it in shape is washing the under carriage regularly.

Save your money

Hondas, including this one, is rust proofed quite well right from the factory. I've driven mine through 3 winters now and the car is fine. Just hose out the underside whenever you wash the thing.
Having crawled underneath a number of S2000's around here, some stored for the winter, some not, mine is no different looking underneath than those cars that are not driven in winter. You will always get that surface "fuzzing" of rust on all the undercarriage parts anyway (just from driving in rain and over water puddles). Unless you have sustained damage to expose metal, don't worry about it.
Besides, rustproofing a car that has already been driven on the roads, is pretty useless as you'll just be sealing all that dirt and crud underneath the rustproofing. There is no point to it.

Rust check or Krown is going to eventually wash off the under side of your chassis in the winter. It is a waste of money to spray it on top of factory rust proofing

So it seems like most people are against rust proofing the S? I'm storing the car for the winter as well, so I guess no rust proofing is really needed?

wow back from the dead....new thread probably would be better so you don't wake the beast.

but yeah,,,,,if you store it in the winter, I wouldn't rust proof. And if you do rust proof I would go with the Silicon spray availble only to new cars off the show floor so that its not nasty oil being applied (or reapplied yearly) and also no holes drilled.
