Soft Top Cleaners????
what do you guys use to clean and protect your soft top??????...also where can i pick up the product???...how much$$$$......i have to use my s2k in the winter....do you guys put any other products on the soft top to protect it from our cold winters??...i live in scarborough...so closer to home would be better!!!
You should clean the top the same way you wash your car. To protect it, use something like 303 protectant, available at some Zellers stores. I've also used lowgloss ArmourAll. Both work well. Just don't spray it directly onto the top. Spray it onto a cloth and wipe with it. Leave the top up till it dries over night or it may run next time it rains or next time you wash it.
I use 2 products that I originally purchased as a part of a Porsche Cabriolet Kit. The soft top shampoo, and a conditioning spray.
I found it worked much better at not only cleaning but also conditioning my soft top than 303 protectant. no joke..
I heard all the rage on this board and ran out and got the 303, but was disappointed in my "cleaning / conditioning" test, and lord knows how many of those I do
(ie pigeon droppings) I found the Porsche stuff less time consuming to apply over the 303 instructions.
It's more costly than the 303 stuff but I swear by it.. I pick it up at any Porsche dealership.
I wash and treat my soft top as a completely different entity. My soft top was DULL when I got my car and now it looks pretty good IMO.
So it's just a matter of how dull is the softop ? how much beeding you want ? and how many blemishes or residual bird droppings if any ?
If its' a brand new car, you can get away with the 303 stuff.. If you decide on the Porsche stuff, PM me and I'll give you instructions.
