Default Soft top problem

I got a little rip on my top, small, the size of an inch. eventually Ill replace the whole thing but for now i am going to do a vinyl repair.

problem is im not sure where to look to get a good one. anyone know of a store that carries a repair kit?

since im already fixing the rip, might as well clean it too. anyone know of a good cleaning product and protectant i can get locally?

thanks!

303 Protectant is a popular cleaner/conditioner available at CT.

I patch a 1 inch tear in my roof last weekend with Automotive GOOP (also available at CT) and a piece of vinyl from an old top from the inside.
It doesn't look the greatest, but still better than a tear.

Good Luck!

If I ever get a tear big enough, I always considered this stuff.

Make sure you get Type B for vinyl.
Supposedly, very strong and pretty cheap also.

I have a really small hole in mine which I will be using StormSure on the inside.
It worked well for the other small hole I fixed a couple of years ago.

MEC also has some nylon patches also.
Check out their site.

Interesting, I never really put my membership to use. I wish I knew about this product last week. Oh well, maybe next time.

Hey Kim,
Larry sells the stuff at a reasonable price on RFD.
He also stocks alot of other detailing products.
Just PM him and arrange a pickup time.
Or read his post as he has various business' which stock his products for sale.
Usually, if I can't make it, I go to NextMod as he stocks there. (not all products though)

Went to NAPA today and picked up the vinyl repair kit, along with some 303 protectant from this auto accessories store in kitchener. both of them did what their purpose was for. top looks better than a rip. and the cleaner/protectant really cleaned up the top, brought back the colour.

I jusr ordered some clear Stormsure. Seems like the easiest do it yourself solution. Search for it on youtube for a video. My small top rip was stiched, but not sealed so I am just going to put a bit of this over the stiching.

Just make sure you apply it inside of the top.
If you apply it on the outside, it will have a shiny spot.
