Default transferring google maps to GPS>need help

I need help with said topic title.
I have read other forums to figure this out by there must be something I am missing. My GPS is a Garmin NUVI 2350.
I have read that some of the newer Garmin's don't transfer as easily as some of the older models. I can't figure that one out? Newer should mean more up to date technology and easier user guides.

I know that once I have a route planned or even our June S2000 route from Mike, it will only load the destination address.
From what I have read there is a "takitwithme" link I have to use to convert to a GPS format. I tried it but I still don't know what I'm doing.
http://www.takitwithme.com/

Anyway. After sending the map to my GPS and the Garmin link up shows successfully sent, all I have is the final destination loaded not the actual "custom route".

If someone knows how to load a route with all the way points and can explain each step involved for dummies like me I'd be grateful.
