Okay,

I need your help guys.. what kind of propane BBQ would you buy nowadays ?

I was looking at Napoleon, DCS or Weber ?

Something stainless steel, robust, but not too big.. but not too small either

Anyone with hookups, would be greatly appreciated..

I'm trying to get this set up, and have ALL you guys/gals over ..

thx

Well I bought a natural gas one last year..... I went to crappy tire.

But what I did was wait till late sept when they are clearing them out 1/2 price! yeah!

I waited a little late actually though, mid sept is probably the best time to buy. I got a fiesta with side burner and that "flavour wave" thing.....

For me...

I prefer to have a cast iron grilling surface. Sadly, the only place I've seen with them is Home Depot in the Webers they brought in.

They hold heat better but they require more upkeep, like regular curing in the oven etc.

Depends how masterful you intend to become heh

Can't go wrong with a Weber Silver C, if you want the same features with a higher price, go for the Gold heh

Like I said, cast iron surface is the way to go

Yeah, Fiesta's are good actually

Well I bought a $500 model, looked exactly the same as the napolean model at the enbridge store. Natural gas is the shiznitz as I never have to go fill that stupid bottle again!

Simon,

I got a Broil King Sovereign model 6 years ago. Does very well and looks as good as new even now. I agree with the cast iron grilling surfaces....if you are an avid BBQ'er, stay away from those flimsy wire grills.

In my opinion, don't waste your money on a side burner as they don't work all that well because the flame is exposed to the wind. Spend the money on a good rear rotisserie burner. Lava rock set up is all right, most good BBQ's now come with flare up heat shields instead. Multi burner with lots of control allows for variety of cooking methods.

When I'm not driving the S2000 or riding the CBR600RR, the Broil King with a cold beer is where it's at!!
