Default Windshield chip

I got a dandy chip that I need fixed. No crack, just a chip, so Im sure its fixable. Are all of these Applebee places or whatever the same or do I need to find and go to a specific one?

Dave, i just got one fixed today at standard autoglass. cost me about $60.00. now, before the guy did it he said that i may still see a line (crack) in the glass. when he was done, sure enough i saw a line, but not the real point of impact wheere the rock hit. line is very slight.

they guarantee the job for life, so the line won't spread, it's just cosmetic at this point.

i'm just letting you know because i wish i didn't have the line there, small thing.. but still, i don't want it. never had a stone chip fixed before - usually i let it go until he windshield needs replacing but i'm trying to turn over a new leaf with the S.

Yeah, the repair will always be visible unfortunately. I have one right in my sightline, but it doesn't really bother me. I claimed the repair on my comprehensive policy. Supposedly you get a free windshield claim every two years without any impact to your premium.

Fscking dump trucks, hate all of them.

That sucks, we got hit on the edge of the windshield in the RSX-s and have a crack running across in the sight line of the driver.

I had a little stone chip on the 89 and when the weather was nearly 80* and cooled into the 30 that night it ran all over the windshield. This one's not covered by the insurance at least the RSX-s is.

Pecaso fixed mine, they did a perfect job---cannot be seen at all, you guys are welcome to take a look of the makeover.

I paid little to nothing for it, dont remember the exact amount.

Apple autoglass, Standard Autoglalss are all places that can fix the chip for you for around 50-80bucks. There is risk though, there is chance that the windshield can crack during the process so be prepaired if that happends. Second, do the repair within a few days of it getting chipped to reduce the amount of contaiminates getting into the glass. If there is too much dust/dirt in the glass it increases the chance of fracture during the glass filling process.

Good Luck

good point and that is why having it done even by places like Acura Woodbine would still mean being under Paul's umbrella where he can oversee it all even if it were outsourced..

surprised you had to ask bio ? whats "da matta" wit you tonight ? too much old whiskey ? heh heh
