So we have been quietly building these sub boxes for many years now for our most discerning s2000 owners and thought we'd share what we have done.

The biggest reason we started building these was because we designed this for our own shop demo s2000's and countless owners have asked us to build one for them. Let us first say if you are looking for a cheap solution to get more bass, this is NOT the right option. As with anything hand made to order, it is quite a bit of labor and with the cost of JL Audio products going up in cost, buying 3 woofers is not cost effective. However if you want the BEST bass without sacrificing trunk space, we think you'd be hard pressed to find another option!

The benefits of this box:

a) ZERO drilling, the box is designed to stay put in the corner with no holes drilled or screws
b) Utilizing triple JL Audio 6W3 subs give you MAX bass with the least amount of space
c) Three 6" woofers roughly equal the same bass output as a single 12" woofer and in a smaller footprint
d) By not using the tool storage space you maintain that crucial space if you ever get flat tire, that space is meant to store the damaged wheel/tire
e) You gain extra trunk space and in a jam, you can remove the box by just sliding it out and you have your trunk space back
f) Very trick custom look that is both super clean and functional with super tight BASS


Drawbacks for this design is mainly cost. It's much cheaper to buy a single 10" or 12" subwoofer compared to buying x3 6W3 woofers. The labor hours to build such a box is roughly 13-14 hours plus cost of materials. As we said earlier this is not a good solution if you are on a budget. But if you want the best, this is a great option.

We realize some of you are not aware of our full product line so wanted to say we also do a lot of custom work in many other niche vehicles from the NSX to the Supra....

This subwoofer box is a the fruition of customer requests for something cool and sounds amazing!

One of the coolest and best aspects of our job is getting to see owner's vision come to fruition!

We wish more customer's would send us photos of their cars with the products they chose and we would happily share every single photo


With that said, here's a super cool NSX build coming from a Northwest NSX client of ours. His car recently took Best of Show and this interior really shows his overall vision. He picked up our full carbon NSX DD dash panel, power window trims and matching center vent all finished in Gloss Carbon.

how much does whole setup weigh and how does it not go flying around in the trunk during spirited driving?

Great questions!

The box was designed to stay in place with NO HOLES being drilled! When the trunk LEFT hinge bar comes down when you close the truck, it's designed to wedge against the box so it stays put. The inherent shape of the box is a perfect form fitted design so it will not move once that trunk lever is down in the closed position

As for weight, the box itself weighs very little, we can check later for exact weight but our estimate is under 5lbs.

Woofers are not included with the box but assuming you use our recommended JL Audio 6W3's they weight 6.1 lb each from their website:

Overall weight is really not an issue since you can always remove it as needed for either trunk space or track events, etc.
