Default ap1 block compatable to ap2 car?

I have asked this in a couple of forums and no one has answered. will an ap1 block work with a dbw ap2?

I'm no expert, but the block is really just a chunk of metal. It really depends on what goes in it and onto it.

Blocks are the same. Its the "crank" that makes the difference.
