Thumbs up CV Joint Problem

Hey everyone, lately I have been hearing a constant ticking sound when making a sharp left turns. It is not to prominent when making a right turn at all. I mentioned it to a few mechanics in just normal conversation and they both mentioned a CV joint problem.

Has anyone had this problem before? I am unsure of how many there are on the car and exactly where they are located. I do know that the replacement part I saw said "Passenger rear", so I'm thinking there are two in the rear. Please help.

How many CV joints are there? Where are they located? How much am I looking to spend? Any reputable shops to fix this problem at a reasonable rate?

Thanks. All replies are appreciated.

Not lowered... yet at least..... and its got just about 70,000k on it. I read up a little bit and it said anywhere from 70,000 - 120,000 they will probably wear out.

There are two CV axles , each has 2 joints . Total of 4 CV Joints . If you look under the rear of the car , as on a front wheel drive car , the CV axles and joints look the same and will go into the center if the rear hub assembly .

Hmm,

Since the S is not lowered it could be any number of issues! Take the S over to S&R and talk with Bobby or Jeff. For phone and address, click on my signature in my first post. Jeff is, well, was an S owner and Bobby deals with mine often.

Thanks for the recommendation.

Yes please call us or just stop by. We will show you what the problem is and give you a great price on fixing it for you.

It is true I sold my baby but only to Primogen so it is like it is still in the family. Also, I still have a full 05 S2000 powertrain, (except axles), that I plan on dropping in my GT6. Doesn't that still make me a Most of the S owner?
