I will see... maybe after we do a couple of you guys that are sure I might do mine. I've heard problems about the raining hitting on the fuse box and the battery which is what I was worried about.

If you guys need it. I have a garage and tools (grinder, drills etc..) but I dont know how to do it nor do I want to attempt to cut it myself but if we set this up I think I have all the tools needed so just PM me and we can set up a date.

That's interesting, I have not yet heard of anyone having problems with vented hood and rain on the S2000.

I heard something about a previous owner that had a vented hood and after he traded in to a dealer theyhave been having trouble with it cause the fuse box is getting wet while the car is sitting outside.

I dont know if this is true or not but it does leave some concern since I have never seen a vented hood in person to see where the holes would drain into the engine bay.

That is true, that car sat at the dealer in brandon for almost a month because they couldnt start it. Its my belief that something else was the cause though.

^There you go! Then you know of the car I'm talking about. I live in Brandon and I've talked to the previous owner of that car a few times but I havent seen him in awhile lately but I know that car has had numerous problems and the dealer was saying the fuse box was getting wet...

A lot of guys have vented hoods and have not had problems.

I think there is more to it than that. Just my opinion.

Liquid007, post a want to buy thread in the want to buy section. Expect about 200. to buy a spare hood. I think Dean was selling one all ready cut. Not sure if he sold it yet. He is a CO in the Vintage, Politics forum and is in FL somewhere.

Do it! You will appreciate it. I just had RXDI do it and paid him.

If I were you, I would contact RXDI and offer to pay him a fee to come out and at least oversee the proccess and give you pointers. There is a craft to it and he has done several of these and was a major help in the hood mod day we had a year or so ago.

He is a master at some of the more difficult and scary mods like this and headlight conversions. I would seek him out and offer to compensate him for his time. If all of you got some cabbage together, it should not be much out of pocket to have a good project manager on hand. He could help determine everything you will need on hand to do this quickly and effectively.

Some of you have concerns regarding craft and quality and some have concerns of the effect of the mod. I have a vented CF hood and a vented OEM hood like this and I switch between them often. I have never had an issue beyond water spots on my polished engine parts.

just my .43 worth
