Default FCRC Autocross

Is anyone interested in coming out to the Corvette Club Autocross on the 18th? If you have never run with FCRC guys you're in for a treat! They always set up for high speed power courses so expect to hit speeds upward of 65+ mph in an S2000. You should plan on running at least 10 times not including fun runs afterwards. Definitely worth $40 especially since they provide lunch and drinks.

You can register online and pay on-site at www.floridacorvetteracing.com

I'll be there. Hopefully the car will leave in one piece again.

Mach 1. In. =)

Also, technically, speeds never exceed 55 per airport rules or something like that ;-)

They're always on a Saturday. They need more Sunday events!

I work every saturday unfortunately. I have to request off a few weeks prior, but I'll try to make the next auto-x. I actually prefer going with the FCRC guys now.

I can't PM users yet, new member here and don't want to start a new thread either. I see there is an upcoming FCRC event on April 18th. I just got my AP2 (in heaven), and have never driven autocross or anything like it and would like to come try. Is there anything I need to do to my stock car? I know to clear it out, make sure the battery is locked down, check the brake pads, fuel up, etc. I just had John at LHT look it over and replace all its fluids (and drop in one of his flashpro tunes). I don't need a roll bar or anything special? Do they rent/lend helmets at the event, or do I need to buy one?

you do need a helmet. Most autocrosses have helmets to loan out. If you plan on doing it I would invest in your own helmet. You don't need to do anything special with the car. You take the floor mats out and make sure everything is secure. Make sure your tire pressures are what you want them to be and go have fun

Safe to say, I will probably love driving autocross, so I will probably look into purchasing a helmet.

Is Snell M rated enough? I see that you need SA for doing track events and stuff, but I wouldn't mind just having an M rated helmet to save money and be more comfortable if it'll work for autocross. I can always get an SA one later if need be.
