Talking Had my Windows Tinted

FYI,

I decided to have the side windows tinted on the S and had heard good things about a place in Brandon called HiTek Car Stuff. I dealt with the owner, Norsky Mendez, who actually did the work while I watched.

They were very professional and the work was done quickly and it turned out great. If anyone is looking to have windows tinted I recommend them. They also do Car alarms, Stereos, speakers/Amps etc.

Small shop, clean and well kept. Nice showroom.

BTW, If you go to their Website they have an online coupon for 10% off you can print off and take in.

I am sure he can, he was doing a Toyota when i arrived (All windows and the headlights). Cool guy, dry sense of humor.

I just wanted something that would cut the UV rays when i have the top up or with it down on the highway (I roll with the windows up on the Highway most of the time). I just went with the 30% (legal tint) but he offered any level I wanted and explained the law and that it applies to the driver of the vehicle and he would not or could not be held responsible if I chose a darker tint than legal.

I thought about going to 50% but worried about it being to dark at night and besides I don't think I can really pull off the blacked out window ganster look very well

I was confused for a bit then remembered the side windows are those things that hold my seat lock warning stickers while I have the car parked @work.

Barry - 50% is lighter than 30. I had 25% on the civic and it was borderline too dark at night and in ANY rain. Good choice w/ the 30. The % = percent of natural light emitted. Stock windows block about 5% i believe, so if cops wanted to be a dick, they could push you on 30% tint...that's why most shops give a sticker certifying the tint level they applied.

That being said, I'm debating tint, but with my top always down, it's hard to justify the $. How much did they charge you and what's your final verdict after having it done?

Barry you heard him correctly 30% is the darkest you can go legally

30% pertains to the amount of light it lets through...meaning its 70% dark

Rob and Barry, I agree....30% is legal, but stock glass has a slight tint to begin with, so 30% - 3-5% stock = less than 30% which is legal....make sense i hope?
