Default I bit the Bullet

I bit the Bullet!

BulletProof that is as in BulletProof Automotives Backyard seat rail that lowers you OEM seat by 20mm (approx. 13/16").

Ordered last week (I got the last one on the shelf) and installed today. The install was pretty simple with standard tools and one person, it took me about 2 hours from start to clean up, including vacuuming, cleaning etc.

No instructions were sent and BulletProof does not publish any on their website. I was going to call to have some faxed to me but with them being located in California and me starting at 8:00 AM this wasn't feasible. Thank God for the write ups on this site, I was able to figure it out.

The feel of the seat when just sitting in the car is noticeably lower, however when you drive it you really notice the difference, especially in a turn. I found myself almost feeling like I was looking up toward the dash. It sounds crazy given the minimal amount the seat is actually lowered but the change in position is magnified at speed.

It took me a while to get my seat back adjusted where I want it, the seat bottom feels the same and I noticed my shoulder sits noticeably lower in relationship to the top of the door. Funny thing is I read a lot of reviews stating that they gained leg room, I do not feel like I did. Also you can notice that the top of the passenger seat is higher but you really have to look for it, this was my biggest fear and I can honestly say it does not bother me. (I have no burning desire to purchase a RH rail to match)

I only did a quick drive to try it out I am sure I will notice more after a drive of a few hours in the car.

In my opinion this is a great mod, easy to perform, great results, however not what I would call cheap, the Seat Rail was $330.00 including shipping.

Sorry no photos of the process or end result, for locals who are interested in doing this mod you can sit in it (notice I did not say drive it) Sunday at the Photo Shoot or next week at the GP events.

What exactly are you trying to say my vertically challenged friend............don't worry I saved the packing box so you can use it as a booster seat, hopefully you can still reach the pedals

It is (was) a sizeable investment and I was very hesitant about doing it, so far I am happy, hopefully even happier after a few miles to confirm the decision.

It was a B-Day present

There was a thread on the main board a while back that showed a detailed DIY way to mod the stock rail to sit an inch lower than stock.
