Default Just shoot me!

Obviously you all have heard of facebook by now...

I've had facebook around 5 years, it was great! Only college students could be on it, parties were easily setup and other social occasions (study groups) and it made it real easy and extremely convenient and best of all, it was great!!

NOW.... It's extremely irratating! Don't get me wrong, I love my father and my entire family...

I completely understand, that it's an easy way to get in touch with you and play online games (which I don't play... because I don't have time!)

The worse thing you can do is add them to your friends list!! Oh the pain and suffering your about to receive... Any time I update my status especially if something is wrong, my father must chime in and be my father on facebook... and epecially the constant updates wanting me to play mafia wars, farmville, street racing, save the planet, etc... ...

I love my family to death but it almost seems like when we get together, there is nothing new to talk about because everyone knows what's going on... I'm just warning you what could happen... Sorry for venting but sharing my little 25 year old mind... I'm probably acting like a 16 year old...

Yeah having parents "in the know" about everything you post on facebook sounds annoying.

My dad is on FB but he's tame enough. He's on here too so I can't talk bad about him sssssssh lol

I'd say if it bothers you that much just cut your family from it and keep it friends only. If they get mad just tell your parents it got to be too much to follow and you deleted the account and make yourself unsearchable.

Lol... that's funny... we'll keep it quiet!

I have no problem talking to my dad if something is wrong or whatever... He is extremely smart and very educated man, one of the original programers for IBM and a project executive for IBM and has helped developed the Outsourcing Program for IBM.. he is very good at solving issues..

He's so smart that when meet as a family every thursday he has disected the entire issue at hand and has probably rehearsed 50 questions... I know it only broadens the perspective and makes me smarter... I'm just saying be prepared to listen...

people have to think of themselves like onions...you have a lot of layers.

dont expose the layers you want to keep hidden on FB.

most of my family is on FB and I would never post anything I did not want EVERYONE to know on a public social network....hello

start a new account, diiferent name or screen name and then contact the people you want to see your posts and then post accordingly.

I have 1 "social" account and 3 business accounts, I pick the one I want to use and then post accordingly

My niece says the same thing but she shouldn't put stuff she doesn't want everyone in the world to see. Like drunken pictures. The largest growing group on facebook is the older crowd so they will be around.

Al Gore created the internet and he is older. So maybe the kids need to stay off of it and leave it to the older crowd.

I understand your pain but unless you want to not accept them as friends then you will have to put up with it.

You could make a site that is age restrictive but be ready for lawsuits.

I agree...

I'm not that kind of person to create a new account just so my parents aren't on it... all in all, they are my family and my best friends... I'll just watch what I say and continue with the advice because in the grand scheme of things, I'll wish I got more advice from them and continue to develop and learn as I get older...

Barry, this is me man'en up!

Thanks guys!
