Thinking of doing this myself in like a gunmetal color.

any info you have on the process?
Gunmetal is good. I was this close to doing mine when I bought the Re01R's. Def on my list for next tire change around tho.

i was going to do black but we've determined that might be a bit much...so a gunmetal will probably look really good....I'd love to do a black chrome type like the wheels on my Mazda but that probably wont be cheap to do lol

Hey I want to check those out Joe. Where did you get the powdercoating done?

And it is a GORGEOUS day! The road is calling NOW so must hurry and get payroll done and roll outta here this morning.
It is a small shop here in Tampa called Hot Wheels ( http://permatouchsystem.com/content/page/wheel_repair ) were Greg repairs rims as well as other things. The complex where he is located is a bit scary BUT when I pulled in to check out the place, there was a gorgeous Z06 having a rear rim repaired. The rims are now gloss black with rays valve stems and CR lugs. It adds some attitude to the S and now I can start playing with the caliper colors (Rio or NFR.)

when i get my new FAL fans I should be in business full time.

those thinking about powdercoating their wheels: check your retailer/provider as there are a ton of new colors and finishes...some cost a little extra but you would be amazed at the choices available now....find a good shop and ask to see sample books

That is what I am betting on! I have the lf caliper in NFR and it looks good with the rims and car but needs a stronger break. I ordered some Rio the other day thinking this was going to be the case @ twice the price of the NFR - Should be here Wednesday so Thursday will be the decision day and that weekend will be disassembly/paint day!

stock automotive paint aint going to cut it IMHO

it needs to be at least a high temp paint, powdercoat or an epoxy of some kind. i would suspect that automotive paint will not be able to handle the heat. they make a kick ass metallic yellow powder coat (jeff/todd/some damn body) had a valve cover done in this color for sale for a good long while...it looked KILLER it finally sold and went on a spa s2000 i think.

BTW I just contacted the company you posted about maybe repolishing my lips and coating my matte wheels

Greg charged me $90 per to clean/debur/fix the road rash which also included the powder coating...
