Default Man Down!

Not sure what went wrong yet but it ain't pretty.

Rod bearings look good but that's as far as I've looked. Going to start pulling the engine out and seeing where the problem lies.

Damn dude, mega condolences. What were the indications leading to that discovery?

In any case good luck man.

Wow. Sorry to see this. Did it just start knocking when driving it?

Started by stalling n the road and it wouldn't restart. I think it had to do with being a little harder to turn over and the EMS couldn't sync. Towed it home and worked with tuner and AEM to diagnose the problem. Got it started and it idled ok but when I took it for a drive it quickly went downhill. Made it about a half mile and it had no power and started knocking. Thought it might have been bad tune or computer but it ran the same on OEM ECU. Knew it wasn't computer and thats what I found when I dropped the oil pan. Going to pick up a rebuilt '05 engine from John next week or the week after. Pulling the engine out tomorrow. Or at least starting on it.

Old engine out. Hopefully picking up the new one this week.

I'm interesting in getting the old one apart and little and find the problem.

An engine oil analysis will often spot these problems long before they're catastrophic. Takes a couple to get a baseline. I think Blackstone has S2000 data in their files.

Got the new engine in and it started right up.

A huge THANK YOU! to John at LHT for hooking me up with a nice clean engine and a few pointers along the way.

Haven't driven it yet, but hope to take it for a short ride tonight.

Took it for a drive last night and all signs point to good. It's running a little rich but its an AP1 ECU on and AP2 engine and I don't have the 02 sensor hooked up (because wideband). It idles a little high as well. John has been a huge help through this process and I think we all know, but I want to reiterate how valuable he is to our community. Thanks John.

I hope to have it all worked out tonight.

Thanks everyone for the support.
