Hey, im going to be moving into Tampa in July, and i was wondering if any one could recommend a realtor for me. I plan on renting a 2 BR apartment, but am having a hard time finding a realtor who would show us several places in South Tampa. So i ask you fellow s2ki'rs can someone recommend a person to call that would be helpful? Thanks!

Thanks guys! Guess i will keep scouring google and craigslist ads. I was told Hyde Park was a great place to look, any other recommendations? It would have to be south Tampa because of proximity to my girlfriends job/school obligations. I also don't want to accidentally move into a "ghetto" area.

 

There is Post in Hyde Park! I'll try to generate a couple of nice places.. First and foremost.. what's your budget range.. You can PM me if you want.. Unlike New York, you don't really need a realtor down here for an apartment... I did an apartment search a year ago, so I'm familiar with most places.. There is even channelside district.. still downtown but 10 minutes east of Hyde Park and some really nice places on Harbour Island which is 5-10 minutes from Hyde Park... it's all about money... expect a minimum of $1,000 for a 2 bedroom apt for this entire Area.. Hyde Park is definately prime real estate, along with Harbor Island and Channelside! Just let me know!

I only showed you a few places but are pretty much in the area you are looking for. You easily go onto www.rent.com and sign up and do your own search. I personally love the Hyde Park area but I also love the Westchase area which is 15 minutes away depending on the lovely traffic of Tampa Bay!

Post Properties tend to be a little more expensive then most apartments in this area but the amenties that they offer typically succeed all others.. unfortunately some of those amenities come with a price! Either way! Make sure to get the S garaged and an alarm!! I know firsthand! Doesn't matter if you live in a nice place or not.. better be safe than sorry! Happy Hunting!

 

GF goes to UT I assume? South Tampa is going to be expensive. Personally, I'd go with a little bit of a drive (20-25 minutes) and rent a house for 1300-1500 in Brandon or somewhere similar.

 

Thank you very much Slusoccer , i will check those out. One of the places we have an appointment at has a garage, so i have my fingers crossed that we end up there. I have an alarm, lo-jack, hardtop, and will be buying seatlocks, so i will try my best

Dave, she's going to University of South Florida, but will also be doing research at some childrens hospital, and hyde park is in between the two places. We might consider purchasing a house in the area once we lived there for a while (about a year) so we can see the area's and whatnot while the houses are still cheap.
