New to the area...
Two questions...
how often do you guys meet up? be nice to see what you guys have done to your cars...
and is there any place that you know of that I could work on my car (need to swap brake pads for a track day)? I am staying at a high rise that doesn't allow car work in the garage... would like to have shade...

We try and have weekly meets when a major event isn't going on. This weeks meet is in Clearwater @ The Tilted Kilt check out the sign up thread here: Tilted Kilt 7/2/09
As for a place to do your brake pad swap you may want to contact S&R Performance in Tampa they are a local shop that does god work, and one of the owners is a long standing member in this community. Not sure if they would let you do the work but call them and maybe they know of a place. Ask for Jeff (Sub-Zero) or Bobby.

As much as trustworthy as a shop may be, I have always been a "work on my own car so I know what's going on" type of person.
maybe I'll just go to a mall and do it there...
Or, worst case scenario, at the track. Not a huge fan of doing work on the car on the day of an event...
I can't make the event this week, I'll be in Atlanta. But, good to know..

where abouts in the Tampa area are you? If need be you can use my garage and tools.
At S & R Performance our insurance will not allow anyone to work on their own cars. I would love to open up a shop like the Auto hobby shop at the Military bases but the cost per hour we would have to charge to cover the insurance would probably negate any profit.
