Default Poker meet(s)?

So I know several of us are into playing poker. Maybe we could start a weekly cars and poker night. We each take turns hosting, play some cards, enjoy the company of S2000 owners, have some snacks or whatever.

First week:
Monday, August 31
Time: 7:30
Location: My house - Valrico. Will PM the address to those coming for safety

$15 poker night.

2 $5 tournament 'hold em' games, $5 optional towards the snacks / drinks. Yuengling is on tap.

Roll Call
1. XScarAudio +1
2. PrimoGen +1
3. cosmo rockit +1
4. Cetrian
5.
6.
7.
8.

I am always down for cards...cash table or tourney style games...either way is fine with me. Josh or I could also officiate since we are familiar with Roberts Rules of Poker.

Ok, first one will be at my house on Monday, 8/31/2009. 7:30PM start.

We'll do a tourney style game (or 2?) depending on the time. I say low buy in so that nobody is intimidated. Maybe $5 / tourney, winner of each takes all. That should work out to 30+ per win

I propose 2 ideas. Host provides snacks either way. Host can pay or each player can pitch a couple of $ in to cover the snacks. Either way works for me.

I would love to do this but unfortunately my company has just implemented a 10% reduction of pay and that'll hurt... I'll be forced to work a second job, I know a lot of people have resorted to this already but I know it could always be worse... I will still try to make it out to meets as best as I can... I miss my poker days! This sounded awesome!!

if we can get 7 or more we can pay out three spots

1st gets 20
2nd gets 10
3rd gets 5

that way more people can make the $$

all or nothing is fine but usually creates apathy late in the game if chip stacks are unbalanced...paying more spots makes it more competative and enjoyable for all

those who bust out can start a small stakes cash game .25-.50 blinds or even less if they want to keep costs down.

The point of these games seems to be the fun of it and not so much a money making venture so those interested should keep that in mind.

Very good points Rob. I agree entirely and hadn't thought of that.

I also have a decent chip set.

Should I start a fresh thread for roll-call or just do it in this thread?
