S2000 Impractical? Please!
So today I made my too-long commute to work in my S2000, like every day. But man, did it feel good outside this morning! (Can I get an amen?)
So, top-down, some great songs queue up on the radio, look up and see an eagle flying straight with me about only 25' up. Guy in a Porche pulls alongside and waves with a thumbs up after. I continue on down what would otherwise be a long boring stretch of government concrete known as I-75. Instead it's my therapist's office.
You see, I am driving into a morning meeting that I know is going to be hell; I know the long weekend has queued up a ludicrous amount of nagging tasks to complete today. My mother is fighting breast cancer, again; I have to deal with crappy bureaucrats later today; my ex-girlfriend is seeing someone and feels the need to rub it in my face; I need to find a new place to live; I'm worried intensely about the country; my brother is leaving soon on a 10-month trip abroad; and on, and on, like most of you - we have worries...
But for those few moments on the ride into this day, I am better than fine! Cruising in the S2000 on a crisp first-day-of-Fall morning, the Florida sun rising in the sky next to me, "Feelin' Good" comes on the radio on a station that should never play it. You see, the S2000 is practical. The S2000 is a psychologist, a therapist, an inanimate friend. The money spent on this car versus any of the regular cars around me is immediately realized in the S2000's main practical use: generating happiness.
"...It's a new dawn, it's a new day, it's a new life... for me..."

Thanks S2KMiami - yeah she's putting up a hell of a fight!
I did do the dragon earlier this year - wow! It was definitely the most fun I've ever had on 4 wheels. I'd go again this year but $$ and a conflict with my buddy's bachelor party.

Prayers sent for your mother. I drive the s to the beach every morning for my 6 mile walk. I wouldn't exactly call it crisp yet but it has been pleasant. The dew point needs to drop below 70° to truly classify as pleasant.
