RACE INFO

I usually get to the track between 9:30 and 10:00.

Here's a quick (detailed) reminder list for those coming:

Racers
1.) Drivers license
2.) $25.00 registration (cash)
3.) Water or Some Drink (bring 3 of what ever you want)
4.) Food (Make sure it wont spoil or explode when hot)
5.) DOT approved helmet
6.) Tire pressure gauge
7.) Sunscreen
8.) Prep your car for tech. (Hood and trunk latched, floor mats out of the front)
9.) A hat, incase the sun fries you
10.) Register online to save time www.trscca.com
11.) Tape or Shoepolish to mark your number

Short version:

1.) $25.00
2.) Drivers liscense
3.) Food and Water

Spectators Should Bring:

1.) Sunscreen
2.) Food and Water
3.) Chair
4.) Video or still camera to document how many times we spin out

I'm always happy to go through the rules and procedures of the race. The only thing you need to know ahead of time is that you will need to sign a waiver upon entering the track and get a bracelet, this is done at the entrance trailor, it's your typical "I will not sue if I get run over" waiver.

For anyone on the line of "I dont know if I want to race".

I strongly urge you to give it a try. These races are only as fast or as hard on your car as you choose for it to be. There is no one at all pressuring you to drive faster or better. Everyone at these events is really there to learn from each other or help out those learning. The tenured guys are all really nice and will offer tons of tips. There are even a few folks who just cruise around the track at 20-30 mph for the fun of it not driving aggressively at all.

There are also alot of couples that drive, two driver cars are very common so if you and a friend or companion want to both race your car swapping off is no problem at all. Though your car will get ran twice as many times in the day.

updated info:

updates are as follows:
1. $35 instead of $25. you have to sign for a weekend membership. that is unless you are a current SCCA member then i think it is just $25. and student and/or military get another $5 off.
2. the tech person has paper letters and numbers to put on your car. so just bring some painters tape or something like that to tape it on.

those are the two main things. but just to reiterate, bring sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, or anything else to provide some defense against the sun and heat. it gets real hot out there, especially in july and august.

bring plenty of water, and maybe a sandwich and some other snacks. not alot of time to eat during the day, but there is some time.

be there before 9:30. registration cuts off then, and you will not be able to register late. i would suggest getting there around 9 so you cant get registration and tech over with and then you can walk the course.

autocross is alot of fun. it is the reason i got my S. i just say come out and try it, it won;t hurt anything. or just come out to watch for a little while. its free to watch. and you can get rides. i drive a silver S, and just come to me and ask for a ride if you want one.

thanks,
Zach
