Default It was bound to happen

So I got home from my trip last night, and when I go out this morning, I noticed my top looked a little funny. I got that sinking felling, and as I moved closer my fears were confirmed. The top was cut open. I look inside and much to my surprise I still had seats. I could tell that's what they were after, because the dumbasses left their socket wrench. They must have gotten spooked and left in a hurry. They were close though. They had the driver seat completely unbolted and the passenger halfway. They did however, get away with my radar detector, which I just discovered is covered under home owners and not auto. Well that makes perfect sense! I use my radar detector all the time in my house.

The good news is that they were really sloppy and left a lot of finger prints along with their wrench. So the cop got some evidence to go on. The insurance adjuster has already been by, so I am taking it in for repair today. I am also ordering seat locks today!

I knew this would happen though. I recently moved to a condo and have to park in a lot in front of my place. i told everybody when I moved, the one thing I am worried about is someone trying to steal the seats. They thought I was being paranoid. Really?

What's a good radar detector for around $300?

I feel your pain. When they cut mine it was evident they wanted the whole car - not the seats. Luckily for me they did not know what they were doing and did not have enough time to cost me more damage than a new soft top.

I dunno about a $300.00 and under radar detector, but legend has it this is the one to get

I also hear the best soft top to get is the hardtop......

Good luck on getting it fixed and not costing too much in deductibles or anything....
