Smile Damaged by leaf blower!

Here is the story........

I work at Whirlpool off N. Peters and we had our landscaping company come out to clean up the winter mess around the campus.

I of course park my car as far away from everyone as possible but it puts me near some bushes in the back of the lot. (I love the spot cause I can see the car from my desk ) I

watch as the 3 guys with the leaf blowers work their way around the lot and eventually to my little corner. They end up getting on the back side of the bushes and blowing all the crap straight into the passanger side of the car. My car is now up to the windows and top of the front bumper with leaves and what not.

I grab my keys knowing whats coming next and start to run outside. Before i can get there in time they are going at both sides and the front of the car with their blowers at point blank range including the soft top....... I end up getting them to stop long enough for me to move the car and check it over to see if anything was damaged.

Sure enough they had picked up some rocks and taken a couple of chunks out of the front bumper and a couple good scrapes down the passanger side fender.

Im in talks with the owner of the business to see what he wants to do about it.....What do you guys think? Anyone know anything about Envirotexx?

Let insurance handle it.
Setting off the panic button certainly would have set the stage for a grand entrance.

How can anybody can be that brain dead?

Get a little web-cam and hook it to your office PC, and set it to record

I acctually did have a witness or two hehe. I just so happened to be talking with some co-workers so they sat and watched as i ran outside. Now that I think about it.......I completely forgot about the panic button it might have saved me some of this headache... .

Anyway, its times like these that im really glad I kept my insurance license valid......Ive been in talks with his insurance guy and got an estimate on the front bumper. 250 bucks just for those two little chips.. but was also quoted about 700 for a new front bumper painted. I got both estimates faxed them over.

Apparently the owner of the business is wanting to pay out of pocket for it. I still have the option to file with his insurance since Ive already contacted them and informed them of the situation if he trys to pull something. Should hear back from him today and ill update. Thanks for the input

I got the quotes from beaty chevrolet on parkside auto drive. They have a body shop in the back and they did the quotes.

They quoted me 250 to repair just the spot damange and 730 to replace and respray a new bumper cover. Im really tempted to order the new cover from HTG for a bit cheaper and take it to them, spray it and ill put it back on myself.

Total price should be 550 with tax.....difference would be the labor and 50 bucks on the cover.

Check this place for a price quote.

www.hondaautomotiveparts.com

They might be a bit cheaper than HTG.

$215 for front fascia.

I try to buy all of my parts there. Great prices, and service.

I would love to keep my business local, but West Side and Airport can't/won't match those prices.
