Default Front grille inserts

Grille Inserts

I saw these and wanted to get opinions before I bought them. Good, bad, or ugly?

If good, are these in particular or should I get them somewhere else?

Any opinions appreciated.

I have the coastal metal ones. I got them used for about $75.

The low cost on these worry me. I would ask what gauge or thickness the metal is. To flimsy and they will damage easily.

Also realize this is purely a "looks" mod as it actually will decrease air flow to your radiator.

Thanks. Do you have to remove the bumper to install?

You do not but it makes it easier if you do. You will need to cut out the two side vents. I did this with a dremmel. I left my main center structure in for added support.

Have you had any problems with the reduction in air flow?

Not that I can tell. I saw a thread where there is a comparison of the airflow for all different options. The reduction in airflow was about 15%. It may make more of a difference for those with sc's or turbos. I am just n/a with a comptech cai.

I just received the coastal metals black center grill and installed it. You can barely tell it's there. I like it

Personally I'm not a big fan of grill inserts.

The black ones are real subtle.

Yea, I like the ones that are like that. Just enough to make a difference but not draw attention to it specifically.
