I'm going to need a front end respray at some point to deal with rock chips and the spot where someone backed into my bumper.

At the shop I go to (it's not pretty) but they are Good, the owner (the guy I know) has been doing this since he was old enough to walk, his father started the business, I have had 4 cars completely repainted and 2 with color changes.
Anyway......

They have a "gun" that scans the paint and give a reading of an exact match. For Example, if my car set out in the sun for 5 years it'll fade, no doubt. So if I had a section repainted and they used the factory color, it would be likely that it didn't match. With this gun it'll scan it and read the fade with it and adjust to match.
