Default Hardtop Time

So I am going to finally get my hardtop and I've decided on the Mugen. Anyone out there that has bought one, where'd you get it? I've only found a few sites that offer it. Shipping is the biggest concern. I'd rather not have something like that shipped unless I have to. So does anyone know someone or a shop rather close (100-200 miles away) that sells them so I can just drive out and pick it up? Or any dealers on the board that could get a brotha the hook up Thanks guys.

I just got mine last week, for 2600 painted and all the hardware in the f/s forums. I would first check the f/s forums first. I don't know any shops that sell them around the Nashville area so you might have to go with the shipping route.

yeah, fs forums ftw.

no need to buy something that expensive new as long as it's in good shape. it's only new til you put it on.

looks like I'm gonna have to scrap my mugen ht thought... too many starting to float around nastyville.

Yeah, I'll see what I can find there. Does anyone know how well the rear plastic in the Mugen holds up? Or do they make a glass backing for it?

Also have another question. I just got new tires put on about 5 months ago and now they are worn out. Now, I enjoy a spirited drive every now and then but most of the time it's all highway miles for me. When I took it to the shop to get my tires put on they said that some of the premature wear was when i lowered my car it through my camber off a lot. So I asked if they could fix it and they said they didn't have anything to fix or realign or whatever. Anyone every had this problem before and how'd you fix it? The previous tires were some Kumos and they only have about 12,000 miles on them.

12k miles is about all you will get out of the rear tires on an S.

You definitely need the car aligned after it has been lowered, but the stock adjustments will probably only allow you to get around -2.25 to -2.5 in the rear at the least. 12k miles isn't bad for a set of rears unless you buy really crappy hard tires the you risk traction issues and etc. Tires should have been on of those things you researched before buying the car, two sets of rears to one set of fronts, expect to buy a new set of rears every 10-12k and fronts every 20k if you buy tires with recommended traction.

As far as the HT goes, check the F/S forums, some of the vendors here carry Mugen. I like Evasive a lot but not sure if he is carrying Mugen parts of not. Otherwise King will have it.
