New S2000, advice needed
Hey Guys,
Im not new to the forum but it has been a longtime since I last logged on. I just purchased my first AP2 this weekend and have a few concerns. Usually I do not post because most of my questions are already answered elsewhere within the website, although i did find a couple of threads concerning the issue I found no clear resolution to the issue I am having. I am getting a rear vibration/ shake that comes at any speed over 70 mph and are in intervals, the vibration seems to come and go every 2-3 seconds like clock work. It is not the CV cups, had that issue in my AP1, this is unrelated to acceleration/ deceleration. Plus the cups were swapped 3 months ago according to the previous owner. Tires were balanced about 6 months ago, pressure is at 35 psi. Please give your thought on what it could be.
I will try and come out to the Belk meet this friday night to meet a couple of you guys in person. There are several other questions I have but this is definitly my primary concern. Thanks for the help!

Is your car lowered? I have had a previous problem just like this one and it turned out I needed rear axle spacers. Lowering it threw off the rear axle alignment and caused vibration.
I have Factory suspension. Fernando if it were wheel bearings wouldnt i hear some type of sound emitting from the failing bearing? The ride is quite, no sound at all from the rear. I am leaning towards axles or differential but do not know if what I am experiencing is a sign of either failing.
I know my dads '04 Ranger needed wheel bearings because at random times the whole truck would just shake, there wasn't any noise, just intermitent vibrations. But then again I'm comparing a truck to a sports car, haha.

Any one know a reliable mechanic or weekend warrior who could diagnose this thing for me?
Its been a while since I've owned an S but I am pretty good with a wrench. The hardest part is finding the root cause and I would rather not bring it to the stealership. Chances are they wouldnt be able to diagnose it anyways. Thanks for the help guys!

Could possibly be a slight warp/bend in a wheel. Looking at it it might look straight, but even an 1/8th of an inch will cause some serious vibrations at higher speeds. Just my 2 cents.
Hope you get it figured out.

Thanks Jordon, I will have my wheels rebalanced just encase but I would think the vibrations would be more constant if it were a warped wheel.
Seems like that should be my first course of action anyways. I will keep you guys posted. Thanks

Could it be a mount somewhere? Or maybe a part of the suspension is a little loose and just needs tightening? Not sure, just trying to throw out some ideas.
