Default New Stablemate

The S has to make room in the garage for one more. I picked this '04 STI up last week for daily driving duty.

Debadged and Dewinged, this car still grabs a lot of attention.

Sweet ride man! What do you think of it driving-wise? I drove my first Subaru while I was on vacation in Washington, and it drove pretty nice. It was just a late 90's wagon with busted shocks in the rear though, lol.

You gonna rallycross it?

It drives completely different from anything that I have ever driven before. This car is scary fast off the line. With the AWD and 300 ft-lb, it rockets you forward. After that initial rush of speed, it kinda falls on it face. It still accelerates quickly, but not with the ferocity that the first few seconds provide. With the S, it is just the opposite. Without a doubt this car is faster than my S in everyway.

I bought the car so that I did not have to drive the S for any reason other than to race it. However, it looks like this will be the last year that the older S2000's have a chance on a national level in AS. This means that I will just let the car sit in the garage as a weekend car or run it in BSP next year. There is always a possiblity of racing the STI in STU, but I don't think that I want to spend the money to make it competitive on a national level (+$5000). For now, the car will stay as is.

This is the first four door car that I have ever owned. To me, it is a sign of me getting more mature and responsible.

RALLYCROSS...........NEVER!!!!!!!!

at least not until it is paid for.

Heheheh, the Rallycross thing was just to see your reaction...I'm very pleased with the result, lol Too nice of a car to rallycross, really. But, one can dream about a really cool friend with an STI who needs a rallycross co-driver I still have thoughts of buying an old Escort GT or something of the sort and rallycrossing it, but the last thing I need right now is another vehicle. I think my apartment complex would laugh at me if I asked for another space!

What's the deal with S2000's in AS? Is something coming down from SS that outclasses it or what? Hadn't heard anything about it, but then again I don't pay attention to AutoX rules much, heheh.

And sorry man, but a Japanese 300 HP AWD Rally BEAST of a car is not a sign of maturity, even if it is 4-door. If you had gone with a 4 door BMW or Mercedes, then I might be worried, but not an STI

P.S. You REALLY need to change your avatar. Before it was mildly annoying that my favorite idol of an S2000 driver had an Evo in his avatar, now that you own an STI it's an outright insult to your new car, heheh.
