Yeah, this has really got me thinking. I didn't realize how "cheap" they are getting. I don't care about street-ability. The S primarily sits in the garage anyway. The only thing that holds me off is that I'm looking forward to driving the S in the new STR class. My current mods will make the car really competitive in this class (as long as I don't suck).
Rock the S for this season, if you do well...hang on to it...otherwise move on.

Are you going to make it out to every event this season? Allowing yourself to only miss a small handful?

Yeah, I'm going to try and make all the local events. I'm not a big autocross fan, but if there is some good local competition and I can take home some trophies then I'll stick with it more. I also plan on attending more NASA events this year, but I'm also limited to tracks like Road Atlanta and Putnam Park that still allow s2000's with stock roll protection on. I'll just be working my way up the NASA HPDE program, so that doesn't really matter what car I'm in.

Maybe I'll just try and find an Elise for a really good deal that I can flip. That way I can get a taste of it. I have a feeling that the S might be the one to go though

I'm going to be meeting with the roll-cage guy here soon with the corolla. I'm going to ask him about s2000 roll bars. Might drive mine down so he can take a look at it. I have a feeling that my previous suspicions regarding price still hold.

I'll let you know though. I think he's going to be getting so much business here soon. Gonna be crazy...

he just bought an electric mandrel bender.

Yeah, let me know. My next mod will be a roll bar. I'm just contemplating keeping the S. I don't want to put any more money into it.

I will most likely keep it for this upcoming season though. I've put too much time getting everything dialed in and tuned.
