I'd rather just buy once and be done for another 6 years though. I like the upgrade ease of towers but the portability of the laptop. I hate our iMacs at work, I constantly am having issues with it not being powerful enough. Thankfully we got some G5 PowerPc towers we're going to use soon.

yeah, the towers are easier to upgrade
....as long as you just need ram or a hard drive
with a new mini every so often, you get a decent processor bump which leaves your 6 year old tower in the dirt
I only like iMacs for beginners
they are great computers, but my problem is when they are done, you are having to throw away a perfectly good monitor
