90 ways to fix something of which 89 are the wrong diagnosis since I can't find a thread on what my specific problem is - I uploaded a song - started listening to it & decided it sucks. I told itunes to delete the songs (album) and move to trash. The funny thing is I look up (I was multi-tasking) and the song is still playing & is still there. I open up my trash can - nothing is there. Sooooo I'm thinking I deleted the wrong song/songs and from itunes only. I don't know if I really deleted anything or not so I decided to delete my library files. Now itunes is uploading everything twice & even old podcasts that not only I deleted pernamently, but unsubscribed from as well... Those are the worst of the problems...

note: iTunes won't permanently delete something, only put it in the trash
also, don't forget, you can always select the song in question and hit command R to reveal that song in the finder

yep - fked - I saved the library files - so I can just bring it back to the way it was, but it does not resolve the nagging question: Did I tell itunes to delete a song from itunes only - & how can I find out so I can put it back - that, btw, is a retarded option - delete it from the computer permanently (put in trash can) or don't it - not this remove from gui only shit. fvk all!

put in trash is what I mean - vs the other delete option of remove from the itunes interface, but secretly the song is still there in your music folder under the itunes directory - all I was trying to do was see if I had what it was so I could put it back.

I'm hyper anal about my tunes and I don't really care for the way iTunes handles them on it's own, so i never use that
also it's way too easy to wipe out a bunch of stuff unintentionally if you're distracted

yeah, if you opened the trash and there was nothing there, you should be able to locate it on your hard drive. most likely in the library folder, and if not, a search should turn it up
