PS1 was really my first game console. I loved that thing (still have it actually) and remember staying up way late to play Gran Turismo all night, that and Need for Speed.
We had an Atari 2600 as well, but it was my brothers really and he didn't let me play it much.

Atari whatever it was (the 1st one) back in what '78? then nothing for quite some time... then in '87? my sister and I went in together and got a Nintendo. When I moved out in '95 I got a Super NES, then a PS1, then PS2, then a Nintndo Game Cube. Then when PS3 was announced I waited and waited and waited...so I ended up getting an XBox 360. Then a Nintendo Wii and now the XBox 1. The Game Cube and Wii were never meant as replacements, more like ancillary consoles.

Pretty much the same here. We got the Atari in the 80's. We also had an Intellivision one (I think that's right) that my mum picked up in a garage sale in the 80's too.
PS1 was my first, followed by the PS2 and then PS3. I got the Xboxone a couple years back. I never got a Nintendo of any kind, so I missed out on all those games.
The kids have a Wii and 360's in their rooms but I don't think they ever play them, at least not much.

I was too po for an Atari. They tried this hip new concept at church called a youth center. They had one, but it was next to impossible to get any time in on it. I never really made it past the SNES. Had a cube and a PS1? for a hot minute, but those went away in the divorce. I was more of a computer gamer in those days anyway.
Watched a doc on Sega the other day. They took a pass on the tech that would eventually become the N64, and then passed on the PS1, aaaaaand again on the Xbox. (they initially started out making slot machines for the armed services) Standard Games became SErvice GAmes, became SEGA
