And Im going to Atlanta tonight for a concert with Spencer (my roommate and detailing helper for those who havent met him). Then tomorrow we're leaving tomorrow at 8am, driving to Knoxville where Molly is meeting me, and then we're driving up to Cincinnati, and then from there to Miami of Ohio to see my good friend in the senior opera as she has the lead roll and this is the first and last time Ill get to see her. So tomorrow brings A LOT of driving...

damn thats a lot of driving matt.....who know after all that you may acctually get your car past break in

Anywho, my clutch is starting to stick at the bottom of the petal travel and its getting progressively harder to push in. Think im going to get the fluid changed (needs to be done anyway). if that doesnt work.....time for a new clutch

Kyle, don't forget about the master and slave cylinders. Could be your problem and a lot cheaper than a new clutch.

Well to start with if the clutch isn't slipping the friction disk and pressure plate are probably OK. It sounds more like a hydraulic problem from what you've described so far.

I'd get the fluid replaced like you've planned and make sure the system is bled properly.

Have you checked the fluid level yet?

yup fluid is fine.....i know its been a bit since ive changed it though. Also probably doesnt help that the temp has literally dropped here 30 degrees in 48 hours.

Im pretty sure the clutch itself is fine as, like you said its not slipping, but it would not surprise me if the TO bearing is gone. I purchased the car used and it were not replaced when the current clutch was put in....mileage wise its about time .....

It could also be the shaft splines have rusted up causing the disk to stick. Unfortunately if that's the case or the TO is bad you'll have to pull the tranny. Might as well change it all out while the patient's open.

Hopefully the fluid change will help.

I had a TO go out in another car I was driving and its acting similarly but not quite the same. Every once in awhile I will disengage the clutch and the revs will drop but the tranny will still hold the shifter in gear.......sounds like a tine issue no?

Hopefully the fuild change will help like you said. What research ive done has led me to believe to think it would be better to replace the whole clutch assembly while im in there.....

Definitely change the PP, clutch disk, and TO bearing if it comes to that.

Why not wait and see and start a thread if need be? I hate to hold up potential post ing.
