Tire question. I'm finally getting around to ordering tires. I want to get RE-01R's. I was going to get stock sizes but I forgot when I looked before you can't get the recommended non-oem size for the rear (245/45/16). So I guess I'm not getting stock sizes. I need to figure out what I should go with.

Maybe screwed on the RE01's. They don't have much to offer in 16". They have the 225, but that suppose to be small.

S02 Tread width: 8.5
RE-01R Tread width: 8.3

I suppose keeping 225's would keep me in stock on auto cross if I ever make it lol.

Tire sizes don't take you out of stock class in auto-x, so that's a moot point. I know Kumho has good tire sizes as I was running a 245 with them (The SPT tire).

It's getting very hard to find 245s for the OEM 16" wheels. I've run non-OEM 225s in the past and it does promote a bit more oversteer but not too bad.

The OEM S02s are your best bet unless you go to 17s.

I heard you gotta watch out for that dry grib. My Kumho's were excellent tires for the driving I did with them, no complaints here at all.

I just read that again and unless it's a typo I wouldn't sweat a 2/10ths in. difference in width - that's less than a 1/4 in. or about 2%.

I worry more about dry rot than dry grib.
