Default Retainers

So, after a discussion with Arthur, I decided to check my retainers. about 26K ago I had a pretty bad misshift so I checked them out.

The Good news:

All the retainers look great, looking at pictures on some of the DIY threads here, the valves have not dropped on any of them.

The Bad:

In putting the valve cover on, I dropped one of the (I think its the oil sensor) between the engine firewall and the transmission. Can get it with anything I've tried, Have done everything I can think of except take the header off (which probably won't help) or drop the tranny. With what I can figure it's setting on top of the transmission between it and the tunnel. So, I'm just going to buy a new one. Anybody know what they run price wise? I hoping the dealerships will have one in stock.

So I'm happy and mad, Happy the retainers look good, but mad that I dropped a part I didn't really even have to remove (didn't know it till I did it).

man, that's horrible!
sorry my suggestion led to this.

good luck with retrieving it/replacing it. I'm not 100% certain I'd feel comfortable leaving it there, but that's not really justified by anything other than gut feeling.

This is the best place on the net to get new honda parts. cheaper than local dealers.

Tried the magnet thing with no luck, but the sensor half plastic and has it's own magnet. Bought a new one for the time being.

yea, the magnet thing didnt work for me either. it also being half rubber with small but of metal/aluminum? plus, makes it 10x harder with the magnet being pulled to the header and firewall
