S2000 Hood Material
I have this hole in my hood that was put there by the previous owner to funnel cold air to the intake. All is good with it but in the rain I need to cover it so I don't suck in water.
https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.ph...=si&img=583757 I had a great Idea to create some type of magnetic cover but after some research I found that magnets wont stick to the s2k hood. They do stick to the fenders. So what is the hood made of aluminum? It is very light and I wonder how much weight savings you actually get from a carbon hood on this car. |
the hood is aluminum. not much weight saving from a cf hood, but looks kinda cool

yes. aluminum.
what is the little scoop made of? is it aluminum as well? if not, you might be able to magnetize that... but I would guess it'd fly off at speed. you should be able to pick up an OEM uncut hood for cheap though if all else fails. |
Are you using the stock air box? if so get yourself a cooling plate with a snorkel. that will keep the water out. i have holes in my hood- no problems.

ha ha illeztimport im giving it concideration to trade ya my cf hood for ur silver one but idk im back and forth on the fact whether i want a cf hood or oem anybody have any opinions?

And I have the K&N FIPK air intake. So the hole in the hood lines up pretty good with my intake. At first I wasn't sure about the hole but I definitely want to keep it now. https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?act=m...mage&img=583757 https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?act=m...d=si&img=583753 |

:gossip: The word I on the street is that CF hoods are so light that they shake around in the wind unless you have hood pins. |
