My favorite Knoxville sighting so far. About a month ago at the intersection of Lonas Road and Hollywood Drive. Two ladies (50ish), scarves around their heads, top down, for a lovely afternoon cruise in a Sebring Silver AP1.

I gave them a nice VTEC hello - they waved back :hello:

I live off of Westland. I drive it every morning to work.

Yeah, I think that I have seen you a few times at the redlight at Westland and Ebiniezer (SP?). I have the S2000 with all the SCCA stickers on it.

I rarely spot another one - especially if I'm in the S. :(
It's all I can do to not go bat shit crazy when I pass another one.
I was pulling out of my subdivision onto Northshore the other day and a white one passed by. Stunned by the event, I gave him a thumbs up as he looked me over while passing. The look he gave me was one I would expect to see if I was flippin' him off with both hands. Weird. :thinker:

Perfect description for the same affliction that I have. As owners of an S, to some of us it is more than a car, it is an attitude. I would imagine that fighter pilots of a particular fighter aircraft have the same feeling when they encounter a fellow F-16, or whatever, pilot, because they feel a camaraderie and the same passion for their aircraft.

It is a shock when you notice an S2000 driver that gives you the look that you described, Robin, but in reality, unlike us, they are just drivers.

Driving down the road, my fiancee will be in the middle of a long story, & I will toss in, "Look - S2000!" She will pause, look and say "Yup" and then keep telling her story. Not even flinch at the fact I point them out everytime we pass one.

It seems like I only see others when in her car. So if you see somone in a Silver Ford Escape pointing at you while driving, its just me pointing you out to her. :D

I have a white S and I live on Fox Road, right off of Westland. I drive it almost every day and am happy as others to see another S. If you see a AP1 white S give a wave, if I dont respond its because I dont see you. I always like to see other S's though....

I find it absolutely incredible as to how few of the cars I see on a weekly basis. Three would be a good week. This is driving daily from Northshore to Oak Ridge M-F and out running around all weekend. It would be interesting to know just how many units the local dealers have sold over the past few years. Or even better - how many tags the DMV has issued to S owners in the area.

Speaking of a hand shot straight up, I did exactly that today - I passed "one of us" on Alcoa Highway (Sebring Silver, I believe)
