Bye.

Dunk'sDad 04-26-2006 11:42 AM

My favorite Knoxville sighting so far. About a month ago at the intersection of Lonas Road and Hollywood Drive. Two ladies (50ish), scarves around their heads, top down, for a lovely afternoon cruise in a Sebring Silver AP1.

I gave them a nice VTEC hello - they waved back :hello:

Kaolinte 04-27-2006 03:54 AM

I live off of Westland. I drive it every morning to work.

Kaolinte 04-27-2006 03:58 AM

Yeah, I think that I have seen you a few times at the redlight at Westland and Ebiniezer (SP?). I have the S2000 with all the SCCA stickers on it.

Ravenwerk 04-27-2006 12:53 PM

I rarely spot another one - especially if I'm in the S. :(
It's all I can do to not go bat shit crazy when I pass another one.
I was pulling out of my subdivision onto Northshore the other day and a white one passed by. Stunned by the event, I gave him a thumbs up as he looked me over while passing. The look he gave me was one I would expect to see if I was flippin' him off with both hands. Weird. :thinker:

Perfect description for the same affliction that I have. As owners of an S, to some of us it is more than a car, it is an attitude. I would imagine that fighter pilots of a particular fighter aircraft have the same feeling when they encounter a fellow F-16, or whatever, pilot, because they feel a camaraderie and the same passion for their aircraft.

It is a shock when you notice an S2000 driver that gives you the look that you described, Robin, but in reality, unlike us, they are just drivers.

tnrsxs 04-28-2006 12:34 PM

Driving down the road, my fiancee will be in the middle of a long story, & I will toss in, "Look - S2000!" She will pause, look and say "Yup" and then keep telling her story. Not even flinch at the fact I point them out everytime we pass one.

It seems like I only see others when in her car. So if you see somone in a Silver Ford Escape pointing at you while driving, its just me pointing you out to her. :D

2K S2K 05-05-2006 12:58 PM

I have a white S and I live on Fox Road, right off of Westland. I drive it almost every day and am happy as others to see another S. If you see a AP1 white S give a wave, if I dont respond its because I dont see you. I always like to see other S's though....

Ravenwerk 05-05-2006 01:26 PM

I find it absolutely incredible as to how few of the cars I see on a weekly basis. Three would be a good week. This is driving daily from Northshore to Oak Ridge M-F and out running around all weekend. It would be interesting to know just how many units the local dealers have sold over the past few years. Or even better - how many tags the DMV has issued to S owners in the area.

Dunk'sDad 05-06-2006 11:10 AM

Speaking of a hand shot straight up, I did exactly that today - I passed "one of us" on Alcoa Highway (Sebring Silver, I believe)

S2OOO 06-10-2006 07:30 PM

Kaolinte - do you work off of Dutchtown Road

Kaolinte 06-11-2006 05:25 PM

Sure Do.

ProLifik 06-12-2006 02:46 PM

I'm here in kingston for the summer right outside knoxville. Do ya'll ever have any s2k meetups in knoxville?

Kaolinte 06-12-2006 03:03 PM

Occasionally we all get together. It seems as though everyone is working on a tight schedule, so it is tough to get a time when everyone can make it. We are trying to get together some time next month for a member who is moving to Alabama. Maybe you can come out to that.

S2OOO 06-12-2006 08:00 PM

I see your car sitting there when I take my trash to the dump once every week. I had to drive through the parking lot to see what all the stickers were for. I don't drive my S that often, but keep me informed of when any get togethers are. I need several weeks notice to try and work around my work schedule.

S2OOO 06-13-2006 08:22 AM

That would be cool. A lot of imports meet every Wednesday night at the Kar Kare muffler shop on Kingston pike across from Toys R Us. We need to do something like this.

ProLifik 06-21-2006 06:55 PM

So was anybody up there tonight? I rode by there leaving the mall, but i wasnt in my car so i didnt stop. I seen 2 s2000s tho a silver with a carbon fiber trunk and a yellow ap2.

S2OOO 06-21-2006 07:27 PM

it wasn't me.I believe the yellow one is a guy that I sold my civic to and the silver one is a friends old car that he sold recently

ProLifik 06-27-2006 06:57 PM

oh ok, well anybody gonna be out there tomorrow?

S2OOO 06-28-2006 09:23 AM

I plan on stopping by tonight after work around 10:00. Hopefully there will still be some people out.

joyful 07-30-2006 06:52 PM

Hey fellow Knoxville S2k drivers!! Anyone up for meeting this week somewhere some time after 6pm? Seems like there are several West Knox drivers and a couple of us live on or close to Westland Dr...too funny!

TheLoons12 08-03-2006 01:04 PM

Anyone wanna meet up this Saturday for a ride? Im relatively new to the community only having my S for 3 weeks now. May have seen flyin around I have a Spa AP1.

Kaolinte 08-03-2006 02:39 PM

I can't make it this Saturday. Maybe next time.

cbrduckdog 08-03-2006 03:19 PM

where do you want to go, for how long?

TheLoons12 08-05-2006 08:55 AM

doesnt matter to me. Its just a beautiful day and i hate to waste it. Any preference?

tnrsxs 09-11-2006 06:10 PM

does this thread count for the Maryville spotted??

Aubrey's parking lot. I got a new camera, had to take a picture.
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y28...s/DSC00128.jpg

I also saw a Red @ HHGregg in turkey creek - we looked at each other like we were both waiting for a wave, then drove off.

Jek 09-12-2006 11:57 AM

^^It always amuses me to see an S in a handicapped spot. It seems like such an awkward car if you have mobility problems since it's so low. I have trouble getting in and out sometimes because I'm 6'2", and I'm only 23 and in good health!

tnrsxs 09-12-2006 04:33 PM

I didnt even notice that..

Jek 09-13-2006 08:10 AM

^Yah, I didn't mean to make light of it. I've known lots of handicapped people of the sort you mentioned, and have no problem with it.

It's just that MOST handicaps that involve not walking far also preclude getting into low slung cramped sports cars.

The heart condition is definitely an exception to that, although the increased heart rate of VTEC could negatively impact that :)

Jek 09-13-2006 12:34 PM

Is it remotely connected to your EMS to make it extra effective when you VTEC? ;)

TheLoons12 05-08-2007 10:51 AM

grainger i think you might have spotted me off of morell i was down at that end of town on my lunch break......see you tonight!

tnvlz 05-08-2007 04:59 PM

Grainger - Yeah meeting up sounds good. Rafferty's on Kingston Pike is an excellent place for Happy Hour (until 7), $1.50 drafts and probably some other "deals" that I dont know about. There are usually 3-4 tables around the bar open and would easily seat 5-12 people on a spur of the moment. I find Thursdays (Thirsty Thursdays) to be a pretty good night for most people to get out and about.

XZLR8N 05-13-2007 10:00 AM

I saw a Silverstone ap1 with an exhaust going through Oak Ridge Friday in the rain. Wondering who it was since i wasn't driving mine at the time(in pieces due to open heart surgery).

TheLoons12 05-17-2007 01:33 PM

bump!!

Just spotted a clean Silverstone coming home from work. Got in behind me and we pulled of. Talked about the cars for a second and introduced him to S2KI. Hopefully he will see this and join. :hello:

Fuelrush 06-11-2007 07:22 PM

Seen a NFR Ap2 at Dicks Sporting Goods in knox Saturday. I also seen Berlina in Jefferson City today (couldn't see the plate though). Wish I had a biz card for the website I could have left on the NFR.

TheLoons12 06-12-2007 07:21 AM

I should be placeing an order for them next week....sry guys ive been super busy lately....

Fuelrush 06-12-2007 08:58 PM

Sweet! What did you decied to put on them? You tha man!

TheLoons12 06-13-2007 04:25 AM

check the new thread......

On another note i saw 3 S2000 on my way back from work yesterday. One NFR with a mid-40s lady drivin.....couple in a silverstone....and the younger guy in the LBP.

p.s. its good to back in knoxville :hello:

tnrsxs 06-16-2007 07:48 PM

Took a rare trip down Kingston Pike tonight in the S coming home from a wedding - Saw 3 S2000s within a few mintues of each other. All were silver I believe. It was dark. Two of them were only several cars apart.

tnrsxs 06-28-2007 06:29 PM

Ok - Who's yellow driving past Old Navy in turkey Creek. Kyle?

Fuelrush 06-28-2007 08:44 PM

I seen a LBP coming out of Turkey Creek Sunday around 6. Was a younger guy. Probably the same guy Kyle seen in his post above.

TN_Tom 06-30-2007 04:10 PM

The yellow at Turkey Creek on the 28th could have been me. I was there around lunchtime.

BTW - I'm new here. Got my s2k up in Wisconsin back in January before I moved down here. It's an '07, stock.

Tom

TheLoons12 06-30-2007 05:58 PM

wait wait.....were you the guy that i saw headed towards cedar bluff Thursday or Wednesday around 5.15? I pulled up next to you and said nice ride ;)

Welcome and post up in the Roster thread below and ill get you added to the list and get you a badge!

TN_Tom 07-02-2007 05:25 PM

Yep, that was me too. Heading home from work. I'll go put a proper intro in the Roster.

Sorry to not give much response - didn't want to hold folks up at a green light... :)

Tom

TheLoons12 07-03-2007 04:38 AM

eh its ok i understand....hopefully we will run into each other again.....always glad to see another spa/rio owner around

tnrsxs 07-03-2007 08:47 AM

Kyle - good job on putting the top down after picking up your shirt. After a few miles down the road, I was wondering if our CO was a top always up kinda guy.

TheLoons12 07-03-2007 09:08 AM

no but the wifey doesnt like to ride top down above 90...she is still "english rose" and burns like no ones business when its that hot out ....... when she is not with me I am top always down....matter of fact had to wipe down the interoir last night after a quick sprint home in the rain ;)

No flash, no honk, no wave from us, so nothing returned.

-Matt

TheLoons12 07-05-2007 10:57 AM

i hate you matt.....

on another note, saw two S2000s today. One AP2 silverstone at the christian bookstore by work and the second.......an AP1 NFR with a Georgia front plate on.....at the christian bookstore by work.

There has been a few times I caught a glimps of a black civic and had to look twice. It's never you. I have a blue S10 I drive. Its been modded quite a bit compaired to stock.

Ravenwerk 07-06-2007 01:41 PM

Saw a 00 NFR up close (lookin' good  ) in Oak Ridge at lunch today. I know it's not Ktown but dammit(!) I hardly ever see any.

Taquito 07-08-2007 09:38 PM

Were any of you guys at NOPI saturday afternoon?....I parked right next to a Berlina AP1 "stock lookin"....with the exception of a intercooler and a CF seibon VS hood.

XZLR8N 07-08-2007 10:10 PM

Robin, there is a woman that drives an NFR just across the street from where you work at the prot2serve building...I think that's what it's called. It's down the turnpike a little.

Ill keep my eyes peeled for ya. With any luck, after this weekend, I might be in a NFR S2000! (knock on wood)

-Matt

XZLR8N 07-09-2007 11:18 AM

It's parked at the Victory Center

Ravenwerk 07-09-2007 12:32 PM

I'll leave her one of our (pending) club cards if/when they're available.

Saw a Silverstone on Topside Sunday morning going the other way. . . . .while in the S! A rare event for me to be sure.
Appropriate hand gestures were exchanged along with cavilear smirks of appreciation. :p

XZLR8N 07-09-2007 04:18 PM

Saw a Spa yellow on Lovell Road on my way to the shooting range today.

TheLoons12 07-09-2007 05:37 PM

that would have been me most likely....

edit: its a 2000, NFR, 18,xxx miles, front lip, side strakes, cd changer, rear spoiler (the small OEM one), and hes asking 17,000 for it. Not a bad deal.

Fuelrush 07-09-2007 11:10 PM
