Thought I would share my most recent dragon experience. 4 cars (06 S2000 {me} 06 Mustang GT, 2000 M3, & 98 Vette) gathered at the Sweetwater Cracker Barrel to drive 68 over the mountain and down the dragon. All was well and after a couple of stops the passenger in the Vette wanted a slower drive.

The S (who lead the whole way) GT and M3 dove very hard across the skyway. At the end we waited for 30 ~ 40 min, but no Vette. We took the bypass they went into town.

Get a call the Vette won't start. Meet up and decide to that $471 was too expensive for a tow to Kingston. Drive VERY hard down the dragon (S, GT, M3) with extra passengers. I will have to tell later the crazy things we did.

My F250 was at my wife's work so we get another and the car trailer. Drive up the dragon to NC. We believe the skyway will be easier towing the load so we go that way. On the way up the mountain (9% grade) it sounds like the turbo comes apart. Good thing it

 

Ouch. No good deed goes unpunished. Sounds like a certain vette owner owes you a $400 dollar favor.

 

no joke sounds like someone in the group is bad luck! Glad atleast everyone came out unharmed.....when you pmed me about an "interesting" dragon event i got scared. Those dont normally end well . Aside from the vette gremlins and the turbo issues how was the ride? Did you hang well with the M3 and GT?

 

Mostly the ride was great!. The GT and the M3 followed my lead. The GT did get testy on 72 at the end and pass but I think the weight hurt it in the dragon (personal opinion). I just let him go.

I will have to tell you later about perfromance. I am not sure I want to publish some key facts.
