Am I crazy?
Somebody slap me around if I have just lost all sense of taste and style, and set me straight.
How do you think a wooden shift knob would look in the S2000's cockpit?
Since my shift knob was stolen in the flood, I have kind of been looking around to see what kind of shift knobs are available (there are millions BTW). And I have started thinking that a wooden knob with a special engraving would look kick ass.
What are you opinions? Is there too much plastic in the S2000's cockpit to introduce wood into the scene. Is the S2000 too "hi-tech looking" for a wooden shift knob? At first I thought yuk, wood wouldn't look that good in our cars, but the more I think about it, the more I kind of like the idea. I could get "The Yellow Submarine" engraved in the knob. Plus, wood will not heat up the way our stock knobs do.
What do you think? Here is a link. Check 'em out.
What do you forsee as the disadvatages or advantages of a wooden shift knob?

If I don't get wood (which part of me thinks would look tacky, and part of me thinks would look really cool) I will get a "leather wrapped" one from momo, but I don't like the way the momo ones install.
John, you know I still have my stock Al knob right here on my desk waiting for you. But after you drove my car with the Voodoo knob, do you really want to settle for anything less? =)
Wood knobs? *shaking head* For a Miata or other 'roadster', it would be a touch of class. For the S....uhmmm no. I would consider the S a sports car that is a convertible, but not a roadster. Besides, there's nothing else that is wood in the car. But its all up to you.

Dude, you need to be slapped. IMO, wood would look like crap in an S2k, and be totally out of character w the rest of the car. Can't go wrong w/ a Voodoo knob, they rock. I have the pearl finish one, and the clearcoat finish really minimizes the temperature absorbtion of the stocker.
