any experience with a shop in cedar park/leander
hey does anyone have any experience with a shop on the replacement of these parts? i figure i will buy the cylinders online.
http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/auto/j...NDER+%28-+03%29
says it will be $237.60 for the clutch master and slave, are all of these parts actually necessary for the replacement? also, along with any experience with shops, i was also interested if you could mention a price that you serviced for. i know these issues are on the forum, but the prices deffinately change for where you live, and i want to hear about your experience. thanks guys.

also, i checked with cottman transmission off of 183 near avery ranch blvd. because they are a shop that came to mind...i was told to bring it in for verification that may be about an hour to tell if it is both the clutch master and slave cylinder. i know it is though....but it is a free diagnostic so it is not too bad. they said their rate was $98 an hour...so i asked how long this would be expected to take and was told, "a few hours." i read about this being done for near 200 parts+labor left and right on the forums? what's up with that? trying to not have this total to $500. . .
The slave is incredibly easy to replace yourself. All you have to do is get under the car with jackstands, undo 2 bolts to free it from the car and 1 banjo bolt to remove the line. I haven't done the master cylinder before so I'm not sure how much work is involved with that. I'd say half an hour tops on the slave cylinder after bleeding it.
ya thanks for the reply...i have bled the clutch fluid before but do realize the simplicity of that task is more than a swap. the main issue i would have with this myself is the involvement of the clutch pedal..i have been tossing the idea of doing this myself, but i do not have jack stands at the moment (used to have ramps that i used for basic maintanence) and my car is lowered. i dont mind so much paying for the install, but i feel that for what the job entails $500 total is a bit on the high side.

JC Autospec isn't in CP or Leander, but they are in Round Rock, and they know S2000s really well. I highly recommend them (they're the only people I'll let work on mine).
my car is not bad, deffinately an earlier stage of a weak/going out master/slave cylinder so ill keep an eye on fluid level, buy more fluid, throw it away, buy more etc etc. but i would hope to have this resolved this weekend nonetheless.
I'm going through the same crap. Taking it to a dealer to get assessed Saturday. If the repair isn't covered, I will be ordering parts and doing it myself. You are more than welcome to stop at my place, I have tools, jack stands, jack, fluids, whatever. I think Dre was needing to do his too, same offer applies. I know Hisham offered to help as well.

thanks for the offer man, the only issue that gave me greif was messing with my clutch pedal for the master....but idk. nonetheless, if your warranty does not work out, use that website man
i realized all the shop would have replaced were the cylinders themselves, so what i thought, and listed, the price as is much higher than it ended up being
i bled the clutch myself yes. it is very easy. replacing the master, ehh...i could do it...just a matter of how comfortable i feel. lol.
also unsure if you mean if i bought the parts to replace, and yes i did. i might just go to cottman since the install would not take that log as well and it is close to my house
